The truth of Christ’s gospel stands! The light has burned bright for two thousand years and is just as applicable today as when Jesus faithfully spoke the Father’s Words. God’s immutable truth has been established for countless eons and will remain for eternity to come. The question is, “where do you, dear reader, fit into the truth?” Will you regard or disregard? Lucifer arrogantly thought to have changed God’s truth, but only founded a great lie. Most have accepted the lie as more valid (the way in which they live) than the eternal truth – just as their forefather Adam had done. 1 Corinthians 15:22, “For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.” Adam sought his way and transgressed God’s way and brought death. Jesus died to His way and sought God’s way and brought life.
Throughout history, many a religious man has also tried to change the truth into a lie to accommodate his love for the darkness (rather than the light) – self seeking ways and the devil’s lie. They say if you believe “our” doctrines and follow “our” truth ye shall not surely die (Acts 20:29-30, 2 Cor 11:4). Those who walk in the devil’s lie will be eternally separated from the truth. There is a multitude of opinions and that which is not founded in the truth is a lie. The truth will certainly always spell death to the exalting of the flesh –the love of your way. Many will cast this truth aside in favor of the doctrines and traditions of their religious denomination (of man, Col 2:8) – in serving their Lord and authority, which are the things of man, his institutions and organizations(Is 29:13, Mt 15:8-9, Mk 7:7-9) – that which has actually exalted itself in the place of Christ.
The Lord God Almighty has a distinct purpose for His creation (thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity, Heb1:9) and those not found in that purpose will not perservere – they will be cast away as a vile and filthy rag (Ps 14:3). He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart will be reconciled (Ps 15:2). We must fear God in righteousness and truth (Ps 19:9, 112:1)! You must completely die to your way, which is founded upon a great lie and find your life in God’s way, which is founded upon His truth. The author extends an invitation to you (as does Christ, Rev 22:17). to come out of the darkness and directly (Rm 5:1-2, Eph 2:18, 3:12) into Christ’s marvelous light and serve this true Lord and King who is given much greater authority than any in heaven and on earth (Php 2:9-11, 1 Pt 2:9, Rm 14:11). This book has endeavored to reveal just how this is done. This is not a frivolous (flippant, superficial, inconsequential, vain, lighthearted, ineffective, facetious) repeated prayer statement, but an entire new life of devotion that begins today. This new life cannot be accomplished without sincerity of purpose and God’s intervention. Fall on your knees and genuinely cry out for God’s mercy. Psalms 86:5, 15, “For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee. But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth.”
Dear Reader, Mercy and truth must meet for there to be reconciliation (Ps 85:10). By mercy and truth iniquity is purged and by the fear of God, men depart from evil (Pv 16:6). Truth must and shall prevail. Psalms 25:10, “All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.” Psalms 119:142, “Thy righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and thy law is the truth.” Psalms 96:13, “Before the LORD: for he cometh, for he cometh to judge the earth: he shall judge the world with righteousness, and the people with his truth.”
The devil enticed man to transgress God’s will and seek his own. There are thousands of paths in this world that are set up to do the exact same thing. There may be a multitude of paths, but rest assured they all lead to the same place, which is eternal damnation – opposite of God. All these paths accommodate “self” (have it your way – choose your course) and make up a very broad way (Mt 7:13). This broad way is the presumption that you can transgress the will of God and not die – the lie (Gen 3:4-5). The Lord God has established one small path, a seemingly insignificant path in this fallen world full of choices, and this path leads to life. Jesus came and forged this path and leads the way back to God through example – the Giver of life and life eternal. This very narrow way is the truth (that exposed the lie) and is not very well traveled because to travel this way, “your way” must cease – the principles of the lie must die in you(Mt 7:14). The tremendous and almost overwhelming temptation is to seek “your” own way via the lie; of which Satan is the father (Gen 3:4-5, Jn 8:44). Those who sincerely and genuinely love God, will cast self aside and go against the strong pressures of this world to conform, in surrendering to the will of God. These are the ones that the Lord is looking for to be reconciled to Him for eternity. These are the “few.” These are the harvest from the earth. This is what this time of trial, testing and separation (know as your life) is all about on this earth. Who will be wise and seek the light, which is the truth(Is 9:2, Mt 4:16, Lk 1:79)?
The light is burning bright, who will see it? The Lord is calling man out of the darkness, who will respond (Ps 128:1)? You must follow the light for the path is very narrow, darkness abounds and you know not the way. Certainly this bright light of truth hurts those eyes so accustomed to darkness, but come forth (anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see, Rev 3:18). The gospel of Christ brings forgiveness and the “promise” of the Father, which is the Holy Spirit. These are necessary for reconciliation to God and eternal life. Forgiveness and the Holy Spirit cannot be purchased with any amount of money (Acts 8:18-19), yet to receive them will cost you everything you have – a paradox! The gospel will make the poor rich and the rich poor (Rev 2:9, 3:17-18) – a paradox! You will never understand these things until you walk that glorious walk! Oh that rugged path.
Men love the darkness (Jn 3:19)! John 5:40, “And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.” You must first leave the darkness before you may enter the light. John 5:38, “And ye have not his word abiding in you: for whom he hath sent, him ye believe not.” To believe is to change course and walk as Jesus in following Him back to the Father. You must “believe” on Jesus in every sense of the word to have everlasting life (Jn 6:40, 11:25-26, 20:31, Rm 6:22-23). John 12:36, “While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light…” John 5:42, “But I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you.” To love God is to sacrifice self for His benefit – even unto death (Rev 2:10, 12:11). Do you seek the honor of self, one from another, or the honor that cometh from God (Jn 5:44)? Who will heed this message? Revelation 22:11, “He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.” Everyone that is of the truth heareth My voice (Jn 18:37).
He that heareth, let him hear; he that forbeareth, let him forbear (Ez 3:27). The wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand (Dan 12:10). We must be able to stand before God and truthfully say: “The Lord my God hath triumphed over me (self), and I rejoice in it!” Will God prevail over you in this life? Will you be a chosen and peculiar person (odd, different from the majority, unique with respect to the norm) who has been called out of the darkness into His marvellous light (1 Pt 2:9)??? He knoweth them that trust in Him (Nah 1:7)!!! They shall be my people, and I will be their God, in truth and in righteousness (Zech 8:8). Malachi 3:16, 18, “Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name. Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not.”
My prayer is that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power: That the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and ye in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ (2 Thess 1:11-12). Are you a sheep? John 10:27-28, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.”
Isaiah 45:5-7, “I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me: That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the LORD, and there is none else. I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.”
